We enjoy performing within the local Church at Harvest, Christmas and Easter. We enjoy welcoming members of the local community to share with us and for refreshments back at school.
We hold our School fete at the same weekend as the Village’s Scarecrow Festival and are the venue for refreshments on the Saturday. Each year we enter the Scarecrow Competition and on many occasions we had won!
At Christmas we sing at The Village’s Christmas Lunch which is a great opportunity for the youngest and oldest members of our community to meet together.
The Village has a Coffee Morning once a week, the school is on a rota to run this event and each class take it in turn to run it.
Bradgate Park run events for the local community such as a Christmas and Summer Fayre. The children enjoy singing and performing at these events too. We also work closely with the Land Agent and the Rangers both inside the park and visits from them to school to enable us to share this wonderful resource we have on our doorstep. Tyburn Class are lucky enough to have been inside Old John!
Our Gardening Club are lucky to be supported by Master Gardener Mrs Woolmer.
We are grateful to Newtown Linford Cricket Club for letting us use their cricket ground to hold our annual Sports Day. The children also enjoy sessions run by one of their cricket coaches to develop their cricket skills. We were also involved in supporting their application to Biffa for funding for a new double-bay synthetic turf practice facility (artificial nets)
Rev Richard leads an Assembly within school once a month and the children look forward to seeing him.
Most months The Newtown Linford Magazine contains an article about school, sharing with the community what our school has been doing and inviting them to join us at our events.
The Linford is used for our school productions due to enable a large audience.The PTA also use it as the venue for School Discos. We are grateful for their support in letting us use their spacious room.
We are involved with ourlocal National Trust property Stoneywell. We have visited as a whole school and hope to have our own section of their kitchen garden to grow our own foods.
We have worked with local charity The Bridge being part of their Reverse Advent Calendar and Packed with Love projects.
